... On the globe, each of the seven continents is represented by a unique colour, which makes it easier to remember and identify, and is used throughout the entire Montessori curriculum. The globe helps children to understand geographical concepts, grasp the scale of continents and oceans, and develop a sense of distance and the relationship between water and land mass. The globe is mounted on a wooden base that holds it at a 23° angle, illustrating the Earths axis in relation to the sun.
