Recognising size differences in three dimensions
... The Brown Stairs playfully promote an understanding of size differences in three dimensions, whereby the width of the prisms always remains constant. Children arrange the ten prisms in the correct order of size, thus building a staircase-like structure. This not only trains visual perception, but also the recognition and naming of size relationships such as thick - thin or high - low. The Brown Stairs can be ideally combined with other Montessori materials such as the Pink Tower or the Red Rods to support creative and exploratory learning.
